Biography
YLVA ÅBORG is an architect educated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Sweden), Delft University of Technology (Holland) and the Royal University College of Fine Arts (Sweden). She has also studied Culture Anthropology at Stockholm University.
Ylva primarily works with urban planning and housing. Her diploma work “Allmän plats” (common space) deals with the question of how we plan our public spaces; what is considered a public space, who we plan for and how the spaces are designed. As a student she was one of the initiators of a course in Queer feministic architecture theory. She has also lectured on gender and architecture. Last year (2009) Ylva was part of the editorial staff for “Drömbyggen” (Dream building), the Yearbook of the Swedish Museum of Architecture with gender and architecture as the topic of the year. Ylva is employed at Berg Arkitektkontor AB and is part of the architecture group “Revisionsmoln” (Revision cloud).
